Some brow transformations stay with us, and these have to be up there as one of our favourite sets of Hairstroke Brows.
This client came to us because her natural eyebrows had thinned over time and there was a little asymmetry between the two sides. She didn’t want brows that looked heavily made-up or obviously tattooed.
She simply wanted her own brows back, only fuller, more balanced and beautifully natural.
And that is exactly what Hairstroke Brows are designed to do.
Creating brows that blend with your own
For this treatment, we created very fine individual hairstrokes through the existing brow.
Rather than covering the natural eyebrow, the aim was to work with the hair that was already there.
We also mixed a bespoke pigment specifically to complement her natural brow hair and colouring. This helps the tattooed hairstrokes sit seamlessly amongst the real hairs rather than looking like a separate block of colour.
When you look closely at the finished brow, it becomes difficult to tell where the natural hair ends and the permanent makeup begins.
That is always the goal.
Correcting brow asymmetry without making brows identical
Almost everyone has some natural facial asymmetry, and eyebrows are very rarely identical.
In this case there was a slight imbalance between the brows, so we were able to gently adjust the shape while still respecting her natural features.
Permanent makeup isn’t about trying to create two perfectly identical eyebrows.
It is about creating balance.
We also lifted the arches very slightly. It was only a small adjustment, but it has opened up the eye area and given the whole face a fresher, brighter appearance.
Why brows can change as we get older
It is very common for eyebrows to become thinner or less defined over time.
Hair density can change, the tails of the brows may become sparse and the shape we once had can gradually disappear.
For some people this means spending more and more time each morning trying to recreate their brows with pencils and powders.
Permanent makeup can replace some of that lost definition while still allowing the brows to look soft and completely appropriate for your face.

Natural permanent makeup shouldn’t shout for attention
One of the biggest worries we hear during consultations is:
“I don’t want people to know I’ve had my eyebrows tattooed.”
And we completely understand.
For many of our clients, the best compliment isn’t somebody asking where they had their permanent makeup done.
It’s somebody saying:
“Your brows look lovely.”
Beautiful permanent makeup doesn’t need to dominate your face.
Done well, it simply restores what has been lost, creates balance and helps you look a little fresher without anybody necessarily knowing why.
Are Hairstroke Brows right for you?
Hairstroke Brows can be a lovely option if your brows have:
- become thinner or sparse
- lost definition over time
- developed gaps
- become uneven
- lost their original shape
- become difficult to recreate with makeup each day
The technique isn’t suitable for every skin type or every previous permanent makeup treatment, which is why we always assess your brows individually.
Sometimes another technique, such as Powder Brows or Combination Brows, will give a better healed result.
We will always recommend the technique we believe will work best for your skin, your brows and the result you want, rather than simply choosing a treatment because it is currently popular.
