One of the questions we hear most often is:
“Will permanent makeup still look natural if I hardly have any eyebrow hair?”
The answer is yes, it absolutely can.
This recent client had very little natural brow hair left, so the aim was not simply to “give her eyebrows”. It was to carefully rebuild the shape in a way that still looked believable, suited her face and brought back some of the definition that had gradually disappeared over time.
Rebuilding the brow, not overdoing it
For this treatment, we used fine hairstrokes to create the appearance of natural brow hairs.
Each stroke was carefully placed to help rebuild the overall shape of the eyebrow while keeping the finished result soft.
The difference to the whole face can be quite striking.
Brows frame the eyes, add structure and can create the appearance of a gentle lift. In this case, the new shape also helped draw attention back to our client’s beautiful blue eyes.
The result is noticeable, but it does not need to look heavy or obviously tattooed.
That balance is often exactly what our clients are looking for.
Why do eyebrows become thinner?
There are many reasons brows can gradually become more sparse.
For some people, it is simply part of ageing. Hormonal changes around perimenopause and menopause can also affect hair growth. Others may have over-plucked their brows in the past or naturally have very fine or patchy eyebrow hair.
Whatever the reason, losing your brows can make more of a difference to how you feel about your face than you might expect.
Many clients tell us they feel as though their face has lost definition, or they find themselves drawing their brows on every morning just to feel more like themselves.
Permanent makeup can help restore that definition.
Do hairstroke brows suit everyone?
Hairstroke brows can be a beautiful option, but they are not automatically the right technique for every person.
Your skin type, existing brow hair, lifestyle and preferred finish all matter.
Some clients suit individual hairstrokes beautifully. Others may get a better long-term result from a powder brow or a combination technique.
That is why we do not use a one-size-fits-all approach.
During your consultation, we look at your natural brows, face shape, colouring and skin before talking through the technique that is most likely to give you the result you want.

Natural does not have to mean barely there
One misconception about permanent makeup is that you have to choose between very natural brows and very defined brows.
You do not.
Your brows should suit you.
Some clients want the softest possible result, while others are used to wearing more makeup and prefer a little more definition.
Our job is not to give everyone the same eyebrow. It is to create brows that fit your face and how you like to look.
