Why I DON’T tattoo a tightline…

Eyeliner tattooing is growing in popularity and it’s easy to see why! Effortless definition that stays put in hot weather, swimming, at the beach, in the gym – no more daily faffing with eyeliner pens, tidying up smudges throughout the day, or battling with trying to apply it without your specs on!

There are so many styles of eyeliner to choose from and sometimes I get asked to tattoo the waterline (tightlining). I won’t – and this is why!

What Is the Waterline? The waterline is the area of skin between the base of the lash line and the surface of the eyeball, where the eyelids meet when closed.

Tattooing this area can result in meibomian gland dysfunction – which can cause dry eye, styes and other problems.

Choosing the right person to create a tattoo on your face is key – make sure it is with someone who has the correct education and knowledge to understand what to use and how and where to work 🙋🏻‍♀️
