An epidermal cyst is a common, usually harmless lump that forms beneath the skin. They are often filled with keratin, a soft cheese-like material produced naturally by the skin.

• Neck
• Back
• Chest

Some stay small for years, while others gradually increase in size or become irritated, inflamed or uncomfortable.

Can Epidermal Cysts Be Removed Without Surgery?

In some cases, yes.
