Today it’s the lowdown on liners…
Eyeliner tattooing is growing massively in popularity and I would estimate that around a third of my brow clients go on to have their eyeliner done.
There are lots of styles of liner. Some clients have just top, some just lower and some opt for both. As with brows, this procedure is done and then retouched a few weeks later so that I can build it up and add to the fullness or colour intensity as required.
With lower liner the most popular options are either a full line, or my favourite – a partial lower liner which is slightly wider on the outer corners and tapers in until it disappears halfway or two thirds in. This can be a firm line or soft and smokey – the choice is yours!
On the upper liner there is a huge variety of effect, some go for big and smokey, others for a crisp line with a sharp flick. Baby liners are also very popular. This is a subtle effect where the pigment goes through the lash line to give the illusion of fuller and thicker lashes and more definition to the eye area, but without an obvious eyeliner effect.
There are many reasons that clients choose permanent eyeliner. Some aren’t confident drawing on a liner, some struggle due to eyesight and others are simply fed up of drawing it in every day.
If you have hooded eyes and your liner simply transfers to the top lid and looks messy or smudges then this is perfect for you.
If you have lost lashes from alopecia or medical treatment or they have thinned out over the years then this treatment can restore confidence and give back the previous definition to your lash line.
